From 2019-2022, the OHSWCA sponsored and ran the Ohio Girls State Tournament.  Hosted at Hilliard Davidson High School, past president Dom DiSabato acted as state director and grew the event from an open format in 2020 to a fully-functioning state tournament with four qualifying  districts.  This was accomplished in just three years  and was a vital cog in OHSAA's adoption of girls wrestling as their 27th sponsored sport.

With OHSAA taking on the girls tournament for 2022-23 season, we will likely see lots of the same and many new aspects.  The girls tournament moves into the Schottenstein Center and will run side-by-side with all three boys divisions.  Additionally, four regionals will qualify the top four finishers in each of the 14 girls weight classes.
